Bardi Gras in Nathalia
Come and wear one of our turtle backs for the Bardi Gras
Perhaps you would rather moth/butterfly wings? That’s fine, too. What about a Carrying Pole too? We can freely loan you some wonderful procession creations, so that you can join us in our Bardi Gras celebration on Easter Saturday, March 30th. The theme for this year is Turtles. Everyone welcome – kids, parents ,grandparents and friends. A real family affair. Parade down the main street to the strains of the didgeridoo and then enjoy the finish of the event by becoming the audience for the Bangerang Dance Group.
A wonderful Saturday is in store for you – the Easter Market – Music and Entertainment – Food and Drinks - Pet Parade – Face Painting – our new event: Gopher Show & Shine and the Bardi Gras. The Bardi Gras includes a wonderful Art Exhibition – Theme Turtles - which will be held at the Barmah Forest Heritage & Education Centre and at the G.R.A.I.N. Store Community Gallery, both in the main street of the town. At the Community Gallery you will be able to Meet the Author – Heidi Knowles, who will be selling her just published children’s book, Badja Bayaderra – Longneck Turtle.
We will be participating in this event with a live turtle display at the G.R.A.I.N. Store Community Gallery on Friday afternoon 29 March (Good Friday) and on Saturday 30 March.
If you feel like a trip to a lovely part of Victoria why not join us for a great day. I couple of helping hands on Saturday would be more than welcome.
